Mar 13, 2018 - Hello, I have recently purchased an Xbox 360 controller adapter for use. This was so i could manually install the Xbox 360 peripherals driver. Mar 6, 2014 - was playing with my xbox 360 wired controller without problems. It then proceeds to install drivers for the so called 'unknown device'. The new PC drivers will enable the Xbox One controller to be used with any game that featured gamepad support for the Xbox 360 controller. Simply download the drivers, connect your Xbox One controller to your computer through a micro USB cable and you’ll be gaming in no time. I thought that the driver is not correctly installed so I downloaded the new driver 'Xbox. My Windows won't recognize my Xbox 360 controller.

Hello, so first of all I have tried several solutions including [this one] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxa5CJsDzwQ).
None of the methods I've tried have made any successful outcome.
I have tried it with the CD drivers and quickly found that the driver included on that isn't compatible with Windows 7. Then I tried installing the drivers found here, and then I followed the rest of the instructions every help website has given me so far: (Device Manager, right click on Unknown Device, Update Driver Software, Browse my computer, and Let me pick). I followed these instructions to the word; however once I click on 'Let me pick from a list...' I am sent to this screen instead of this one which the internet tells me I should be getting. I'm not sure what to do from there.
Edit: Since it apparently isn't clear, after I click 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer', I get a menu with one option. I don't get the menu with 'Xbox 360 Peripherals' or 'Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class' or any other drivers I should get there.
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong still or if I just have a bad receiver or what. If you can help, thank you so much and I hope I can do something to make it work.

Edit: By the way, if this means anything, when I uncheck the box for 'Show compatible hardware' I get this menu. However, there is nothing related to XBox 360 or controllers under the manufacturer Microsoft.
