Yes, you can definitely play a full 3.9 GB game from a thumb drive. I recently purchased a full game (Games on Demand) online, which auto-downloaded when my Xbox turned on. I didn't know it at the time, but my internal hard drive was filled, so the download defaulted to my already-formatted and plugged-in USB thumb drive. Flash drive game download. A software update will be available for PlayStation 4 owners as soon as they power on the system. While the update isn't required (single player games can still be played without an Internet connection), it is recommend that you install it to receive the full benefits of Sony's latest console.

There are two methods for installing the update: directly onto an Internet-connected PlayStation 4 or with a USB flash drive. The latter can be utilized for those who don't have an Internet connection readily available.

Flash drives are not designed to run games and it's also known The Sims 4 it's quite an heavy game to run, which could potentially brings issues to the drive itself. Can I Download Game Patches To A Flash Drive On Computer

Hello, I currently use a hotspot for my internet at home due to living in a rural area. I pay 5 dollars per gigabyte of data. I've tried all Blizzard games except for WoW over the connection and have no trouble at all but downloading Heroes of the Storm will cost me a lot in data. I was wondering if there is a way in which I could download it to my laptop or USB at work and then install it on my desktop at home so I don't have to pay for extra data. Thanks a lot!
Can I Download Game Patches To A Flash Drive
Hi I'm really hoping someone can provide me with an answer to this
Good evening Rebel,
if I set up a new computer and want to add Blizzard games, I usually do the following steps:
1) download & install the battle.net client, start it the first time and exit again
2) copy the directory of the game I want to play from another computer in my network
3) start the battle.net client again
4) click at the battle.net logo in the upper left corner, then open settings > game install > 'Scan for Games'
After following these steps you should have a fully operational client.
If you've used the client on another computer before, you might want to reset the user options for that client on your new computer (open settings > game settings > reset user options).
I can't guarantee that this is the most efficient method or doesn't throw up any problems (I haven't encountered so far). Usually this saves a lot of time / data volume :)
I hope it works, have fun

Thank you TMA, this has been extremely helpful to me! I've been spoiled with cable internet since it came out and I'm new to this whole 'data limit' thing. Does this also work for patches? Thanks again, made my night!
Hello again,
nice to hear that :)
Well.. I know the feeling. Luckily my years of 64 & 384 kbit/s are over... for now ;)
To your question: basically yes, but..
I don't know if you can extract single update files - this might be way faster. You might want to check the forums for that / wait for someone else to answer :)
In case of a big update I'd recommend the following for now:
- update the game on your notebook
- close game & battle.net client on your computer
- remove the game from your computer (by deleting the game directory only)
- copy the updated client from your notebook to the computer (same installation directory where your previous version was)
- start battle.net client
That way we had to download each big update of Blizzard games only once.
It looks like user settings, screenshots and replays of Heroes are saved to the following path:
C:Users[user]DocumentsHeroes of the Storm
So basically your important stuff should be safe if you only remove the game directory itself.
If you do the same for other Blizzard games, I'd recommend to check for your game settings, screenshots and replays first.
D3 and SC2 seem to be as nice as Heroes: user data in said Documents dir.
As far as I remember WoW saves all of its user data to the game directory. In this case save the important stuff first, otherwise your screenshots and config are gone.
In general: since I don't know technical details of the games, I can't guarantee that this is the best solution ;)
We'll see if someone has something to add :)
Have fun
